Was just talking to colleagues about this. So hard to understand how fax machines are still a norm across many healthcare practices. It's symbolic of a healthcare system that is stuck in decades gone by. I cringe when a healthcare provider asks me to fax a document. Then I wonder: where will I get access to a fax machine?

Why are fax machines still the norm in 21st-century health care?

The notion that paper-based records are somehow safer and more secure than electronic records beggars belief
